Broader Applications

Investment to these technologies is beneficial to all of Target, not just All In Motion.

Make Sustainability More Accessible

Many Circular Champion guests already expect recycled polyester and sustainably sourced cotton, and purchase All In Motion products because of that.

By expanding sustainability efforts to other product categories and brands, all of Target's guests will become more aware of sustainability. And, the Circular Non-engagers and Sympathizers will start to purchase more sustainably because their favorite products are more sustainable.

Expand Areas of Investment

Depending on the needs of the product development team, additional partnerships with textile firms may be explored to expand the use of sustainably sourced cotton, regenerated fibers such as viscose, and biobased nylon.

Similarly, expansions of the reverse logistics program may include handling of online purchases and returns, as well as reductions in overstock throughout product categories.

Finally, different methods of "closing the loop" may be more effective for each product category. Recycling is viable for All In Motion, given athletic wear's heavy use and primarily synthetic fiber content. But, for other products, second hand resale or remanufacturing may be more appropriate.
